RockBudz

’The RockBudz is a new project which was originally born out of a mutual love for the 60s style R&B pioneered by such bands as The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things, The Spencer Davis Group; The Animals; The Rolling Stones and many more.

Many of these classic bands based their styles on earlier great American blues artists of the day including Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Muddy Waters Wilson Pickett, etc.

‘The RockBudz’ incorporate all these influences with an edge of classic rock which has been reflected over the years by several of the great US and UK bands such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Small Faces, The Kinks, The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc. These are bands that often interpreted old blues songs with their own particular flavour and style accordingly giving them great success and popularity.

Lawrie Walton and Keith Matthews are the driving force for this project.

Lawrie is lead vocalist and in addition plays blues harmonica; rhythm guitar; 12-string guitar and mandolin, Keith in turn provides harmony and backing vocals and plays lead and slide guitar. Experienced session bass guitarist and drummer complete the line up giving a full rounded, tight and exciting 4-piece band sound.

Because of their vast experience and in addition to the above ‘The RockBudz’ can also offer a full Sixties Act which includes classic covers by artists such as The Beatles; Elvis Presley; Cliff Richard; The Shadows; The Searchers; Ricky Nelson; Billy Fury, and many more from that golden decade.

‘The RockBudz’ are an exclusive, exciting and lively act that will give audiences plenty of scope for feet tapping, dancing or alternatively just simply relaxing and listening. The act is totally self-contained and they provide all their own top quality equipment and instruments, including lighting. Continuous music can be provided for interval periods if required. Playing times are flexible and they offer excellent value for money.

Lawrie and Keith also perform a wide range of songs as an electrified duo with a Rhythm Box as well as in straight acoustic format.
